The Uttar Pradesh State Open School Board has heralded a revolution in the Open School education scenario of state and Nation in the last decade .Uttar Pradesh State Open School Board which runs under the aegis of The Uttar Pradesh State Open School Board Act, 2008 U.P Act No. 27 of 2008- Passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature Dated-29 August 2008 is pioneering the constitutional provisions of Open School education for all by literally translating the aspirations of students not only of state but also of complete nation to reality through its qualitative Open educational facilities.

The Uttar Pradesh State Open School Board (UPSOSB) under the auspices of Open Schooling of Indian Government’s Education Department has been vested with the authority to register, examine and certify students registered with it up to pre degree level courses. It provides access to learner centric quality school education, skill up-gradation and training through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of education. The programme delivery is made through printed material coupled with face counseling (Personal Contact Programme), lab Practical/Training, EBooks, Online Support etc.

The syllabi, duration, examination and certification etc. of UPSOSB shall be the same as is for formal examinees of Open Schooling of Indian Government’s Education Department which is a major component of UPSOSB. There is equivalence in the certification of the UPSOSB with that of Open Schooling of Indian Government’s Education Department and with other member Boards of Open Schooling of Indian Government’s Education Department on reciprocal basis.

Our Website www.upsosb.ac.in and prospectus give you precise information about various courses of study, choice of subjects, credit transfer from our Board, credit accumulation, mode of study and flexibility in examination and certification and so on. I also advise you that you must avail the facilities provided by UPSOSB through its Study Centers such as Personal Contact Programmes (PCP), Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) and Study Material developed by the Board.

The UPSOSB under the auspices of Open Schooling of Indian Government’s Education Department attempts to provide education to you, nearest to your place of stay or work with flexibility of time, place, choice of subjects with an objective of suiting your requirements and interest. We at UPSOSB strive for continuing innovations and improvements in serving our learners. Amongst other things, UPSOSB has introduced the usual procedure of admission through the identified Study Centers and through Online Registration.
